CHEROKEE REGIONAL PARTNERS WITH SHIIP IN O’BRIEN COUNTY

Primghar, Iowa - Cherokee Regional Medical Center (Cherokee Regional) is pleased to announce that Cherokee Regional Medical Center is the new Senior Health Insurance Information Program and Senior Medicare Patrol sponsor in O’Brien County.

“With Cherokee Regional’s sponsorship, our volunteer counselors can provide free, confidential, and unbiased one-on-one Medicare counseling,” said Mary Helfter, local SHIIP-SMP counselor.

“Navigating Medicare can seem daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone,” said Kristin Griffith, Director of the Iowa Insurance Division’s SHIIP-SMP program. “We have well-trained and certified SHIIP-SMP volunteer counselors across the state equipped to provide information that informs your decisions about Medicare. Our counselors can assist you whether you are newly eligible for Medicare and are looking for information or needing assistance with Part D or MA plans during Open Enrollment. The SHIIP-SMP program has a solid track record of helping with Medicare questions and problems.”

The SHIIP/SMP office is now located in the Primghar Medical Clinic at 240 N Rerick Avenue in Primghar, where clients are seen by appointment only. To arrange an appointment, call (712) 225-6817.
