Our Services
Physical Therapy — Healthcare service focused on improving movement, strength, and function through exercises, manual therapy, and other treatments. Physical Therapists help patients recover from injury, surgery, or medical conditions by reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring physical abilities.
- Sports Medicine — Specialized physical therapy for athletes of all ages, from the college or high school athlete to the weekend warrior or fitness fan. Our sports medicine team of physical therapists and athletic trainers are committed to helping you heal and get back in action. Cherokee Regional has a Board Certified Clinician in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Should you need orthopedic surgery, it’s available too from our experienced staff surgeons. Lastly, we also provide sideline coverage for the Cherokee Braves and Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn-Remsen-Union Royals athletic events.
- Aquatic Therapy — Exercise program performed in our state-of-the-art pool, where the buoyancy of the water reduces stress on the body and allows you to move more freely and with less pain. Aquatic therapy is an excellent way to build strength in weak or injured muscles. The pool features a chair lift to help you in/out of the water.
- Women's Health — Addresses health issues unique to women such as pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal and postpartum care, and recovery from gynecological surgery. Specialized therapists provide personalized treatment plans to support women through all stages of life. Whether Dealing with incontinence, pregnancy-related discomfort, or post-surgical recovery, women's health physical therapy offers compassionate care to enhance overall well-being.
- Neurologic Physical Therapy — Cherokee Regional has a designated physical therapist who is Board Certified Clinical Specialist (NCS) in Neurologic Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. We specialize in the treatment of developmental, systemic, and traumatic disorders that affect the neuromuscular system including spinal cord injuries, vestibular dysfunction, and Parkinson's disorder.
Occupational Therapy — Helps individuals regain or improve daily living skills and independence after illness, injury, or disability. Through personalized treatment plans, occupational therapists work to enhance fine motor skills, coordination, and cognitive function enabling patients to perform everyday tasks. Occupation Therapists focus on adapting environments and teaching new techniques to improve quality of life and promote independence.
- Pediatric Occupational Therapy — Our highly-trained pediatric occupational therapist holds certifications in Autism Spectrum Disorder. Pediatric occupational therapy focuses on helping children develop the skills they need for every day activities such as self-care, play, and learning. Therapists work with children who have developmental delays, physical disabilities, or sensory challenges to enhance the child's ability to interact with their environment, supporting their growth and overall well-being.
- Lymphedema — Lymphedema is a condition marked by swelling rich in proteins, resulting from the lymphatic system's inability to effectively drain lymph fluid. Lymphedema is typically found in the arms and legs but can occur anywhere in the body. Treatment options such as manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, exercise, and skin care are offered by four of Cherokee Regional's therapists who hold certifications in lymphedema therapy (CLT).
- Ergonomics— Cherokee Regional has an occupational therapist who is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS). This aspect of occupational therapy focuses on identifying potential ergonomic risks in various work environments and providing solutions to reduce injuries and enhance workplace productivity. Our occupational therapist is a part of our occupational health program.
Speech Therapy — This specialized service helps individuals improve communication skills, addressing challenges with speech, language, voice and swallowing. Speech therapists work with people of all ages from children with developmental delays to adults recovering from stroke or brain injury.
- Pediatric Speech Therapy — Our highly-trained speech language pathologists provide personalized care to help children overcome speech and language challenges, building confidence and promoting effective expression.
- Feeding Therapy — We offer specialized feeding therapy designed to support your child's unique needs. Our expert therapists are dedicated to address feeding and swallowing difficulties, helping children develop the skills they need for safe and enjoyable mealtimes. Through individualized assessments and tailored interventions, we work to improve oral motor skills, enhance nutrition, and ensure a positive feeding experience.
